Uncovering the Logic of Faith

In Mathew 9:2 Jesus saw a man that was brought to him, a man who was sick of the palsy, lying on a bed; and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

1st Question. Do the people with you not around you interfere or help in your faith for healing?

Because this story isn’t the only time where Jesus measured the people aiding the sick to determine their faith standing before healing someone.

In Mark 2:9 Jesus asked the Scribes “which is easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

This was a literal question that Jesus gave hinting at the answer to his own question that they are intertwined in harmony. The barrier to a lot of peoples illness is locked in their minds being weighed downed by past sins and present guilt of their own unworthiness in receiving healing rapped in forgiveness.

And upon these words “thy sins be forgiven” I hang this blog post uncovering the logic of faith and healing.

I love how insightful this verse is, in giving everyone that reads it a glimpse of the many puzzle pieces to Devine healing.

In the book of James 1:2 we are instructed to”count it all joy when we fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

In many stories about Jesus that we all love we can see how he first listens then probes before determining if healing or salvation is due for the person before him.

I truly appreciate the variety of angles and verbiage used in the Bible thanks to the different writers; all describing how to self- heal or regenerate.

In Mathew 9:2 Yah says Son, be of good cheer”and these instructions come before he has his sins forgiven. Some call it mind over matter, manifestation and self motivation or the laws of attraction but God describes it as having cheer.

Let’s recap, a man who is sick with the palsy is instructed to start thinking good thoughts. But that can seem so vague for someone who doesn’t know what good thoughts are about themselves. Thankfully his grace is sufficient and in the book of James we are given more detail to this faith that God is looking for inside of us.

“ Knowing that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and unbraided not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave in the see driven with the wind and tossed. Let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the lord. For a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

In Psalms 81:8 God asked us to “ Hear, o my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me; There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god. I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt; open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.”

Question 2. Do you have cheer?

I love how this verse symbolizes what was stated earlier in proverbs 18:21” A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and Life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit there of.

In James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil neither tempteth he any man: But Everyman is tempted, when He is drawn away of his own Lust, and enticed.

I inserted this verse to insight thought into the possibility that we cause our own healths deprivation.

In verse 26” If any man among you seem to be religious, but brideleth not his tongue, But he deceive his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and the widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Right up above God lists out three things for a pure religion, you need to visit the fatherless, widows in their affliction. Like Jesus when he came to earth. And lastly you need to bridle or control the tongue.

Later in Jame chapter 3:1-2 “My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the grater condemnation. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and also able to bridle the Whole body.”

3rd Question. Are you calling the righteous or the sick sinners to repentance?

In 1st peter 4:6 “For this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. But the end of all things is at hand; be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

“And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves; for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging”……

4th Question. Are you covered in fervent charity?

Back to the Top:

In three words Jesus said to the sick man that he’s going to have to focus his brain and tap into wisdom and have patience for the proper outcome. (Calm your nerves)

In 2 Timothy verse 12 we can read that “ If we suffer, we shall also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abide faithful; he cannot deny himself. Of these things put them into remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babbling; for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

In life it is hard to have control over our thoughts. To cast down every wicked imagination of things out of our control. Our responsibilities can lead to stress, and stress prevents healing.

Acts of charity have been linked scientifically to

. Lower Blood pressure.

. Lowers stress hormone levels.

.Lessen anxiety and depression.

.Increase of self-esteem, releasing endorphins causes a sense of euphoria, and oxytocin’s are released. Ralph Hertwig, Directer of the center for adaptive Rationalty and the Max Planck Institute for Human Development says “A moderate level of caregiving involvement does seem to have positive effects on health. But previous studies have shown that more intense involvement causes stress, which has negative effects f physical and mental health.”

Shame and regret are big causes of depression, leading to eating disorders and digestion disturbance. Malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies that rebalance our hormones giving us the physical ammunition required for self regulation of thoughts and our words to others.

If you want to be healed you have to address your shame, triggers and hurts that have you physically and mentally inflamed and irritated.

In the medical diagnosis for palsy you will find the main irritant to be inflammation of the nerve that controls your facial muscles and passes through a narrow corridor of bone on its way to your face. In Bell’s palsy , that nerve becomes inflamed and swollen- usually related to a viral infection. Besides facial muscles, the nerve affects tears, saliva, taste and a small bone in the middle of your ear.

In Ephesians 2 we are given more knowledge and things to think about to help alleviate our mental inflammation. “You hath he quickened , who was dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

In Ephesians we see that the writer is explaining that the mental conversations you hold with yourself matter. Jesus first connected and established the relationship by calling him son, then told him to think about his actions and center his self on truth and the healing that God already has for him. Lastly before the sick is healed he needs to understand in his brain that his past sins have been forgiven.

But God, who is Rich in Mercy, for his great love where with he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, ( by grace we are saved;)

“If a man therefore purge himself of these, he shall be a vessel of honor, sanctified, and meet f the masters use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts; but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that all on the Lord out of a pure heart.

I love how God calls us to be perfect as he is perfect, but I learned from talking to others that we have a misunderstanding of what God calls perfect in man and our self imposed definition of perfection.

In Deuteronomy 18:9 God gave a better explanation, “ When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found any one that make the his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that use this inaction, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulted with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all these things are an abomination unto the Lord; and because of these abomination the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

“Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.” For these nations, which thou shalt posses, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviner’s; but for thee, the Lord thy God hath not Suffered thee to do so.”

I know so many people read these verses and wonder who then are we supposed to turn to if we can’t go to a witch or enchanter to find out what or who is blocking our life path.

In verse 15 God answered our prayers by saying”The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from amongst thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

To sumerize everything I’ve talked about God wants us to listen to him and have cheer and know that or sins have been forgiven and that through him we have the power to be perfect.

In 2 Kings chapter 5 a wonderful story about how a man was healed from leprosy but before his healing he had to overcome his mindset.

“Are not a Ab’-a-NA and Damascus, rivers, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father,if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wildest thou not have don’t it? How much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash and be clean?

Let’s not be like this man and be alerted by the simple solution to our sicknesses and sins. We may be willing to go on a long travel across the globe to a hidden retreat center but simplicity wins at times.

All we need to here is Son or Daughter, have cheer thy sins have been forgiven the. Arise, take up thy bed and walk.

Lastly I love how skilled God is at prescribing the right medication for the right person. With one man he used his spittle sharing the good bacteria, then he also utilized his hands on the deaf man. while looking up towards heaven He showed us how to ask the Father for healing and for our ears to be opened. Others may not need this like the women with the issue of blood. She saw and heard God and was lead through the storm, not needing any words more than woman thy faith has made thee whole. With her determined mind being her only guide.

As she had spent her fortune seeking healing from all the wrong sources.

In John 20:29 Jesus said to “Thomas, because thou hast seen me,thou hast believed; blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.“

So many levels have yet to unfold, because many of the signs that Jesus left behind, “are not written in this book; But these are written , that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”

It is the duty of a King to reveal a matter and “truly, you are a God who hides himself, O God of Israel. you said to seek and ye shall find, ask and it shall be given.

Lord expose the iniquities that have separated us from you,”and our sins that have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.

For He does not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him for help, he heard.

Question 5. Are you crying out to be heard by God or man?

I wrote about this in my blog post who cries besides I.

Although each of us are on different levels of understanding and manifestation of that understanding into the physical realm we have to be willing to find the missing pieces to our puzzle. No matter how scattered they may seem if we can find the strength to realign ourselves and remember Son, be of good cheer, thy sins we forgiven, arise and walk.

In 1st Peter 4:12” Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trail which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: Bu rejoice, inasmuch as years partakes of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Question 6. Are you dying a fools death?

Jesus din’t die for any reason, he wasn’t tricked or out smarted by Judas as he knew from the beginning who was going to try and deceive him. He died for a purpose to overcome the fear of death amongst man.

“But let on of you suffer as a murder, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.

In 2 Samuel “ The king lamented over Abner, and said, Died Abner as a fool dieth? Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into fetters: as a man falleth before wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people wept again over him.

Let us not die a fools death and know the value of our lives, that we are worth more than many sparrows in God’s eyes.

Question 7. Is your religion in vain?

In 2 Kings 4:1” Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto hi my two sons to be bondsmen.”

This man had the beginning of wisdom, which is to fear the Lord but after that he never moved on in knowledge because in Proverbs 13:22 We are told” A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”

And in Proverbs 22:7 The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender. And in Ecclesiasticus we are instructed to “Say not thou, what is the cause that the former days are better than these? For though dost not enquirer wisely concerning this.

Wisdom is good with an inheritance; and by it thee is profit to them that see the sun. For wisdom is a defense, and Money is a defense: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth to them that have it.

Like in 2 Kings “there is a just man that periphery in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongs the his life in his wickedness. Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise; why shoulders thou destroy thyself?

Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish; why shouldest thou die before thy time like Abner in 2 Samuel. “ Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.”

Thy sins have been forgiven. In 2 chronicles “Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.”

For the longest I wondered what is the difference and true definition of a perfect heart to God and in chapter 27” Jo-tham was also twenty-five years old when he began to reign. In verse 6 we get the reason why “ Jotham became mighty, “because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.”

Uncovering the Logic in faith in our healing can be uncovered in the below seven questions.

1. Do the people with you not around you help or interfer with your faith in your healing?

2. Do you have cheer?

3.Are you calling the righteous or the sick to repentance?

4. Are you covered in fervent charity?

5. Are you crying out to be heard by God or Men?

6.Are you dying a fools death?

7. Is your religion in vain?

The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd. And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

That is the logic behind my faith and I hope I helped someone reestablish their own faith in their healing.
