My last post Repentance awakes Justice, Justice cries for Judgement can be pointless without the foundation of the Beams of Love in our lives.
I personally believe the first step is repentance, but prior to this we all need to acknowledge zero as discovering the beams of the love of our God. Upon these beams we live to create the sturdy foundation to uphold justice, judgment, and Order. Before understanding judgment, we all need to grasp repentance. This blog post is about what should occur in our minds before repentance, which is the acknowledgement of God’s existence.
Once we start to see God then we will want to feel God and this pulls at an open heart to seek God’s knowledge. God claims to be the gatekeeper of knowledge and understanding and he said that before a man receives knowledge they must first fear God.
For the longest I always thought that this fear that God asked from man was our modern fear of hurt or stress at the result of anger. Thankfully the etymological origins is of this word is Greek meaning “peira”, which means”trial, attempt, or experience,”. In Old Saxon faron “to lie in wait,” God is saying that man’s beginnings start with “experiencing” or to lie in wait,” for him as the living God.
The God of Compassion
My favorite bible verse has always been the shortest verse” Jesus Wept”. When I was younger it was my favorite because of the length and ease to recite it before others at church. Now the statement “fear God” rings in a different key to me. Although it was moving, I didn’t fully comprehend it’s meaning personally or etymologically.
While reading 1 Samuel 24 I came across the story of David being pursued by King Saul and until a few days ago David behavior irritated me. My thoughts were ” If David was a man after after God’s own heart, why didn’t he just kill Saul and reunite Israel?” This is one of the stories in the bible that depict the limits of Love. When man can’t God can. The perfect just, judge can keep your mind in perfect peace. He has the ability to Judge when man feels weak and this story expresses how David is a man after Gods own heart.
Compassion like David: His Beloved
If I ever had the opportunity to kill someone trying to kill me I wouldn’t hesitate, but I’m not perfect so I allowed God to work this anger/reflex out of me. While reading this story I felt God leading me to a deeper understanding in experiencing Gods love. God is so loving that he doesn’t want man rustle with the after thoughts of killing another man. God is so loving that he doesn’t want man to hate his enemy but to bless those that curse you. I’ve always concluded that these instructions were given were to limit mans anger but its to protect mans ability to love. In my last post I stated that God has given man the authority to judge and this is true, but God also left an open door to his High-Court of litigation and prosecution of our earthly problems.
Sadly men and woman have stopped going to God as the supreme judge. We assume that God’s going to respond with a bible verse like pray for those who spitefully misuse you. so we don’t even bother sending our petitions to heaven. In David’s life he showed us time and time again the beauty of limiting our jurisdiction.
In this story I learned why Vengeance is The Lords, not because man can’t but because God can so much better. In this story God gave David the opportunity to kill King Saul, and something inside of the future King David’s heart was telling him to not kill the man trying to kill him. We also know from this story that Saul was tormented by an evil spirit occasionally due to his tendency to disobey God. Lastly, we learn that David loved Saul like a father and it pained him to run form a man who once embraced him as a son. Just thinking about the goodness of God and how he didn’t want David to kill Saul because he knows the heart of man. We may have just discovered and named this effect as PTSD-, but God knew about this tender spot within us before Cain killed Abel. God wanted David to give the duty of Judgement over to God.
The reason we should go to God is because “Jesus Wept” for man. The biggest beam of love is to know that God weeps for us individually. In Luke 7:13″When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, weep not.”
John 11:35 – Jesus wept.
Luke 19:41 – And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
John 11:33 – When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
Hebrews 4:15 – For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Luke 19:41-44 – And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, (Read More…)
John 11:1-57 – Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. (Read More…)
Law, Justice, and The Order of Limits
There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me, therefore, which of them will love him most?
Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. The problem with the judicial system and our personal relation is it’s filled with peters. Those who have been forgiven little, are lacking the aspects of compassion, grace and mercy to forgive others a lot.
Prior to peter being fully persuaded of his filth he had a haughty religious and superficial spiritual consciousness. In many ways I’m like peter, I have yet to discover the depths of my filth so I lack the compassion of Christ.
Before the Covering
IF Jesus says that the greatest commandment of all is to love God, but we love him only because he first loved us. We have to lay the first beam of our foundation which is to awaken our senses towards the reality of not deserving God’s love due to our unworthiness.
In the book of James, the question was posed “who can love God and hate his brother made in the image of God….? This question is answered above by Jesus. Those who love little.
- If thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
- If though seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
- Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
The Beginning of Wisdom is to fear God, and in the above parable spoken by Jesus, he tries to depict this relationship between man and God. God claims to be the gatekeeper of the paths of judgment and preserves the way of his saints. In Proverbs 2:10 we learn what must come before the knowledge of judgment, “When wisdom entereth into thine heart and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul, then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment and equity; yea every good path.
Step 1. become a lover of truth.
The love of the truth will lead you to realize how untruthful you are towards God and all of his creation. As Jesus said you can hang every other commandment upon this one.
I hope you will fear, lie in wait and experience God, because with this realization you will find that there is hope in this world. God did not leave you nor will he forsake you. He is a compassionate God, with a tender heart that is movable and sway-able to your pains. He came down to experience this thing we call “hell on earth”. If you accept God’s extended hand of mercy towards your own life you have a better chance of loving yourself and your neighbor.
After the “fear” sets in for the fact that you have an innumerable debt towards God but you also have the ability to have your debt pardoned only through repentance. Just start seeking his mercy because many have died with a hardened broken heart from killing people that God could have saved or killed if necessary. Those forgiven little love little and those forgiven much love a lot.
With the foundational pillar of Christ’s Love for you, you learn what comes next in the quest for knowledge. It leads to wisdom and wisdom seeks justice and justice cries for judgement. Next, Judgement seeks equity and equity gives you understanding of all things and how we are all intertwined in this life.
Equity
Equity’s etymological definition extends from old French “equite in the13c, originating from Latin’s “aequitatem” meaning the uniform relation of one thing to others, conformity, symmetry. This brings us back to Pontias pilots question to Jesus “what is truth?”
The truth is Man is just as important as Woman.
Children are just as important as adults.
A wise man considers the life of his beast because God put his truth of existence into all of his creation.
But man walks around in denial of the reality of Equity; denying the truth that others have just as much right to exist as they do.
I love the law and I love seeking understanding from God on how to awaken this love in others. I’m currently in undergrad school studying Psychology and Pre-Law. I seek to bridge the gap in the judicial, medical, and financial and spiritual worlds into one, as they are all intertwined. Creating Contradicting Wealth in the name of equity. Many have passed without this understanding but many will come with a deeper understanding then me. It’s not just possible to change the world its already done. People will understand and have a change of heart, nations of people will grasp hold to the truth that we are the light, the interconnection between Science, law, love, medicine and life. Mental health and criminal behavior, unresolved anger and hidden shame all can be overcome along the way of living life in love and note hate each and every day.
If my point has yet to become clear I believe that before one can ever show another love they first have to experience the love of God. Apply this love towards themselves then and only then can man love another man purely again. This is the foundation that we build our knowledge, laws, and judgment upon.
Jesus said that he came to be the true foundation, Solomon built a temple with a solid and wide foundation. But along came a man to destroy what was built with hands. This time God has the supreme plan to build one not made with man’s hands. He wants to over lay this foundation with pure Gold but only if we let him. This is the end of my post Beams of Love this is my Off the Dome Tuesday post.
