Benefits of a God

Bless the lord O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Are there any benefits in serving the God of the Hebrew covenant?

First I want to establish that there is no such thing as unconditional love.

The Hebrew covenant can be hard to digest with the expectation of receiving unconditional love from God.When I was more of a child this is the way that I too thought that God should love me unconditionally. Now that I’m older I have put this concept behind me and I strongly encourage everyone as individuals to do the same.

Eternal love > Unconditional love

The concept of unnconditional love is  the root problem of our worlds current corrupt judicial systems world wide. What we need is endless love with conditions that allow repentance and restoration.

We all need to understand and respect that Love, life, liberty and “freedom” and grace are benefits from the new covenant of grace in the contract or covenant of eternal love. The concept of nonconditional love is the root problem of our worlds current corrupt judicial systems world wide.

Although the Bible is always quoted for “the love of money being the root of all evil” We all ignore what’s underneath money. Truth and judgment is required for money to have a standard weight in society.

Example: when going to the grocery store you need the marketer to have proper judgment and be truthful about the labor and time cost during the pricing of their goods. If they lied during the judgment process, the worth of the goods can increase giving them more of your money.

“The heads therefore judge for reward, and the priests teach for hire, and the prophets divine for money: yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, is not the Lord amongst us?” No he isnt. “None evil can come upon us.” But yes it will and these are the self deceiving words we all say in our hearts when we practice poor judgment.

The Son of God was murdered publicly in Rome due to poor judgment. People are still being murdered brutally due to judges and nations inability and unwillingness to judge righteously.

Poor judgment or the total lack thereof causes chaos and anarchy. God requires all folowers to be a lover of truth and to first seek wisdom and understanding and to fear Gods judgment.

The Son of God died due to poor judgment and God’s coming back to judge the world. I think it’s safe to conclude the world has a judgment problem not money or food,because there is enough food and money but not enough judgment to go around the planet.

“Hear, I pray you…. is it not for you to know judgment?” God wants man to understand judgment and embrace the importance of it because you can’t use “love to cast out all fear”, without the judgment or discernment of truth.

The history of Isreal serves as a living example of a nation that turned to abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.

“Get wisdom, get understanding: forget her not… Wisdom is the principle thing;therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.  Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to you….. keep thy heart will all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Issues of Life

“Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgressions, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?” No, God doesn’t want any of these things, God says obedience is better than sacrifice. “He Hath shewed thee, O man what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.”

With the desire of unconditional love we are asking God and others to become crazy,delusional, and lacking of sound judgment for our desire to be provided “love without conditions”.

This desire steams from the lack of understanding of what  love is.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
1 John 4:17 .

What are the benefits of a Just God?

Eternal love, Grace and space for repentance. Understanding, just judgment and discernment are all benefits of A just God.

“Trust ye not on a friend, put not yet confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemy are the men of his own house. Therefore will I look unto the God of my salvation: my God will hear me…..Mine enemy may say where is the Lord thy God?….

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoned inequities and passes by the transgressions of the remnant of his heritage? He retained not his anger for ever, because he delighted in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from.

Another benefit is that God isn’t taking any bribes or money. He doesn’t get impressed by lineage nor will he count them pure who “Hath wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights. For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth…. The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net. That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asked, and the judge asked for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: sonthey wrap it up….. but now shall be their perplexity”

Again I summarize to say that the best benefit of a God is truth and judgment. There are countless benefits to serving God, although his ways are not are natural ways; he promises to work it all together for the good of those who love….

Pontias pilot asked “what is truth” and his judgment is evidence of his ignorance. Why Jesus didn’t take the time and inform him of what truth is, is a story for another post.

This post is also a reminder to myself on why I choose everyday to serve God and not any other. Because I can trust him to love me with conditions. And these same conditions give me assurance. So you can take thus as a reminder that with all thy getting please get understanding. It will save countless lives, because you will know the importance of grace and mercy as it hinges upon your understanding of truth.
